MADISON + STEVE
First things first, how did you two meet?
We met in the 2nd grade, he was a year older than I was, and always shy and quiet. We both went to the same college and would see each other from time to time but the timing wasn’t right. After we graduated we both started our careers. I was in graduate school and bartending downtown. One day a group of firefighters came into the bar to have some drinks. Steve and I said hello to each other and we would glance and smile at each other the whole day. At the end of my shift an older firefighter came up to me and asked me to meet his nephew who thought I was cute, I figured why not. I sat at a table and Steve came and sat across from me. The older firefighter was his uncle. Steve asked me out and the rest is history.
It’s so hard to choose a wedding gown, how did you know it was the one?!
I went to several bridal stores and tried on countless dresses and I knew I loved Martina’s designs, textures, and details. She was having a trunk show for her next year’s collection and the second I tried it on I fell in love. When I walked out to show my family everyone’s face just said yes.
Did the church for the ceremony have any special meaning to you?
The was at Saint Patrick Church, Steve’s grandparents got married there too so it was special to him and his family. My family has always been very religious, and my 90 year old grandmother wanted to walk down the aisle at my wedding, that was really important to her!
How did you decide on blue for your bridesmaid’s dresses?
My bridesmaids were my something blue. They have all been with me through difficult times in my life and each and every one of them has supported and loved me every step of the way. All I wanted was the color light blue. I let them pick out the dress. I’ve been in so many weddings so I know the importance of keeping the bridesmaid dress affordable!
There are so many options in the Philadelphia area. What about Cescaphe Ballroom sealed the deal for you?
I looked at soooo many venues and attended many Cescaphe weddings and I loved that they pay such attention to detail. When we went to Cescaphe Ballroom I liked how open it was and how many different areas there were for guests to hang out. I loved the outdoor section to give those who weren’t into dancing a place to hang out. I also had 300 people so I needed a big venue.
Any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Enjoy every minute of it! Don’t stress out about the details. Remember to take a moment to appreciate your partner that day! My favorite part about my wedding was seeing how happy my husband was and realizing how lucky I was to be spending the rest of my life with him.
